The 2009-2010 NLCP Reading and Writing Initiative

Dear Students, Parents, and Teachers,

Welcome to North Lawndale College Prep’s “Write to New Heights” website! This website offers parents, teachers, and students resources to help build a culture of literacy at NLCP.

Last year, the “Rise through Reading” Initiative helped our students soar on the wings of reading. But a true culture of literacy rests on strong writing and reading. The two skills must reinforce each other. “Write to New Heights” will build on last year’s success by helping students and teachers understand and improve themselves as writers as well as readers. With both these skills, a Phoenix can soar to ever greater heights.
