Student Leadership

NCLP helps prepare the leaders of tomorrow in many ways, including by offering opportunities to participate in the following:

National Honor Society (NHS) – Selected students are inducted into the NLCP chapter of NHS based on the following four pillars: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.

Peace Warriors – NLCP’s Peace Warriors positively impact school culture through proactive engagement with other students. After successfully completing an intensive training process, which teaches them the Six Principles of Kingian Nonviolence, our student Peace Warriors commit to living nonviolently and teaching others to do the same.

Civic Action Phoenix (CAP) Class – This course is designed to develop leadership skills with a focus on the dynamics of power and values that impact culture. Students learn the principals of non-violence, conflict resolution, and strategies for social change. They will engage in the teaching of mini-lessons to peers for the purpose of fostering positive school culture and encouraging nonviolence as way of life.

Phoenix Icons – NLCP’s student ambassador organization works with school leadership on ways to engage and retain future and current students through the development of innovative opportunities and events. Icons are scholars who are filled with Phoenix pride and who embody the our mission of creating the next generation of transformational leaders.
